St Kilda Festival: Melbourne’s Ultimate Beachside Celebration

Every February, Melbourne’s iconic foreshore transforms into one of Australia’s biggest free music festivals — the St Kilda Festival.

What began in 1980 as a local community event has grown into a two-day celebration of live music, culture and summer energy. Saturday kicks off with First Peoples First, honouring Indigenous artists and culture. Sunday brings the main event — multiple stages, huge crowds, local favourites like Trent + Friends, and a soundtrack that rolls from the beach to Fitzroy Street.

The atmosphere? Electric, relaxed, and unmistakably St Kilda.

With free entry, food stalls, street performers and live acts all day long, the St Kilda Festival captures everything we love about Melbourne in summer — sun on your shoulders, music in the air, and the sea just steps away.
